What is Medicaid? Medicaid is federal funding to assist Americans who, among other activities, cannot afford to pay for their assisted living and skilled nursing home costs. It is distributed by state governments, and, as a result, the regulations regarding who qualifies for Medicaid will differ from state to state. In addition, the way those regulations are interpreted will vary from county to county within Ohio. It is best to consult with an Elderlaw attorney in order to determine how and when you might qualify for such benefits.
