Where should the originals of my last will or trust be kept? Always in a bank safe deposit box. Home safes are not fire proof; they are fire resistant. Banks in Ohio no longer require that safe deposit boxes be sealed when the owner dies, so your trusted family members should be able to enter the box and remove those document.
