Where is the best place to keep my Living Will and Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care? Since both of these documents address who is authorized to make decisions about the medical care you will receive—including, but not limited to, termination of life support under specific circumstances—they should be readily at hand if an emergency arises. Some of our clients keep copies in their vehicles; others put them on the refrigerator at home. You should carefully consider where these documents should be placed, and you should tell whomever will be in charge of decision-making for you (if you are unable to communicate) where those documents are located.
