Where should the original signed Last Will and Testament or Trust be kept? The answer is, always in a safe deposit box at a financial institution. No longer are such boxes sealed and inventoried by the county government after death. Home safes and lock boxes are too easily entered or destroyed by fire or flood. Always remember, however, to put some trusted person on your safe deposit box as authorized to enter it after your death.
